So a while ago Joe sent me a demo track by Grass Cannons called '1st XV'. I don't think it is up anywhere but I'm sure they're gonna put something out soon, it's a really rad track and I think you should be getting excited about this band/release. To be fair, though, maybe I only like this band because every member is a babe. They're like that cute girl from your english class who toys with your emotions using a suggestive glance, and you're thinking "what does it mean" but never take action because you don't want to spoil the excitement of uncertainty.

So my Gameboy + LSDJ cartridge got stolen from Poor/Lonely last weekend, all my song data is gone forever. I've been using an emulator, Gambatte, on my computer, I wrote this wee track, will most definitely add some vocals to it later on. So I got a song released on the first Pxl-Bot compilation, Pxl-Bot is a bad ass net-label who've released loads of sweet chipmusic! I'm very honoured to feature on this compilation and my next ep will be released by them! On this compilation I especially like the Frostbyte track and the MONODEER track!

Also our Teensy USB circuits came in the mail today. I'm just waiting for my link cables to come and my underclock mod and I can start syncing some awesome chip/glitch with my computer!!!

So I've come across a few sweet tracks and videos lately, here is one from Dunedin it's WAOTS (We Aeronauts Of The Spirit). I met Max in Auckland a few months ago, he plays music on his DS and uses a vocoder and stuff.

And here is a sweet track from Brisbane it's Rubijaq. It's a bass heavy chip song, I really like this guy's music especially his last two releases; Unreleased Compilation 2, and Unreleased Compilation 3.

Also the latest $noregazZzm video is out and it's pretty rad. I like Joe's kiwi accent (I'd hope Zach would be proud), Lisandru doesn't have a kiwi accent but, his Romanian/Canadian twang does his Romanian/Canadian upbringing proud.

Also I'm heading to Wellington this weekend with Grass Cannons and Nevernudes, it's gonna be an awesome party they're playing at Fred's on friday (don't ask me where that is... it's in Wellington somewhere).

So last weekend I went back to Christchurch to see old friends. I had a fantastic time hanging out with people I love, my flight almost didn't get to Christchurch because of the fog.

Things I did in ChCh;

-Got to see the brewery for the first time, it was pretty cool, I drunk a milk stout and it was tasty.

- Hung out with Fionn, he let me ride his bike around town while he was visiting the doctor, we had lots of good talks I miss him alot :c. Netta was pretty busy studying, I only got to see her a little bit.

-Got to see the Archive in construction, it's looking really cool, T'Nealle and Jasper have been working really hard on it.

-Hung out with Joel, he left for Europe/Australia at the start of 2010 was really cool seeing him again!

-Went to a Skab/Skub party with T'Nealle and Jasper, we had a killer time ripping up the dance floor!

- Saw Arrietty with Alice, Matt and Hollan at the cinema. I found some free popcorn afterwards too!

-Ate lots of T'Nealle's bread/pizza it was delicious, fresh bread is probably one of the best things ever!

-Went to a 21st, I didn't know the birthday girl, but had a super fun time partying with Joel. I sung Limp Bizkit on the Karaoke.

I did lots more as well but my memory doesn't serve me quite so well. I had such a fun time but I realised just how much I miss my ChCh buds. Oh well this is life, I can't have my cake and eat it.

$noregazZzm and Rackets in Wellington

So $noregazZzm and Rackets played in Wellington a weekend, or so, ago. We packed out three cars and road tripped down to the cold mid-west {it's not really west... but it was cold} the trip was sooo much fun we stopped lots and partied on the side of the road in excitement. When we got to Wellington Rackets gave us an unwanted tour of the cbd, later I meet up with Mark, we drunk beers and talked in his apartment. Before the show I got really excited and engaged my party mindset mode {I'm really a computer running algorithms, so party mode is easily obtainable}. The show was amazing, I think all the bands that played that night simply killed it {in this case 'killing it' is a good thing} , Rackets, $noregazZzm, and Dave Currie's DJ set were simply superb. The following evening was somewhat shadowed by the first, it was still great though, I really enjoyed meeting up with Alice and Sam, I haven't seen those cats in ages :c !! Also I made really good friends with Maddie... actually both nights were really great, but the first had better music.

During the daytime Mark and I saw the Colossal Squid at Te Papa, it wasn't colossal really it was just gross. We had lots of really good talks which kinda made me sad cause I missed our flatting times in ChCh, I also met up with Tyne and Hannah which was cool, a little weird, a little like salt on cuts but not really that bad..... hmmm overall, though, I had an excellent time, now I'm back in Auckland working and partying and making tunes.

debut fauxhound release

So I have finally finished mixing the debut release for Fauxhound. The EP will be released for free download online, I'm looking for chip net labels to release it on, also I think I'll press a few CDRs which will have a bonus Fauxhound/Futurnari song on it. Anouska Van Der Werf, is designing the artwork (this is what I'm waiting on for the release), she's a graphic designer from Auckland and is doing an amazing job!!

MOD PARTY!!!!

So on Saturday James and I had a 5 hour mod party, it was so much fun! I got one of my light screens working but couldn't fix the power on my other DMG so I couldn't test whether the install worked. Also I switched the covers, now my DMGs are two tone!!

New room ++++ Comic swap

These are two Liz Prince comics that Alice has let me borrow, they are such lovely comics, probably two of the best comics I have ever read. Made me feel really sentimental and a little sad [but a good sorta sad... if you get what I mean]. I will send them back to Alice along with Blankets and Lost at Sea so she can read them!

This is my new room... I used to live in our lounge but have recently upgraded to a small room in our garage, the privacy is nice! I have set up a small recording 'studio' for chipmusic, in the photo my computer is perched next to my mixer in the studio! Really it's just a faux-studio {do you see what I did there?}!!

Comics

So my comics came today, I haven't read them yet and really have no idea what to expect. Today I will drink coffee, read comics and possibly play gameboy {most likely play gameboy}. I think I will read "Lost at Sea" first because it's substantially shorter than 'Blankets'. Comics will be sent away, and hopefully returned, for a long distance comic swap.

Also I will give Little Scale's new EP a thrashing.
