Nice guys finish last

Since Year 12 I have wanted to become a secondary school math teacher, I think it's my calling in life. I have just finished my degree in education and mathematics, so today I had my interview for Teacher's College. I was told that whilst I have all the right prerequisites/credentials I am on the waiting list for acceptance, the reason being that I am too nice. Its like a compliment that sucks.

I hope I get in. I will know by next week.

  1. There is nothing transcendent about that text book! Damn, I should've got your help for my EMTH course, too late now. Good luck.

  3. Rachel, I never took EMTH but I did a number of papers on linear algebra and hence did a lot of programming in MATLab! It's such a great programme. If you ever need help in any future Math I would be more than obliging, although I do not know if I will be of much use.

Thank you so much Florence, I think with your well wishes I will be admitted. I really want to teach math, I think it [mathematics] is a lost art the assimilation from science has distorted it's true beauty.
